FITNESS TRAINING : OVERVIEW

My Fitness Training classes are loosely based on the Circuit Training concept which is what it says - you go round a circuit but this is a route laid out with markers in a room. At each marker a different type of exercise is carried out. There are a number of variations on this theme and as my classes tend to be small and personal I tend to adopt the class approach. This means that the class works together on the same exercise for a set time then changes to the next one.

Each exercise is designed to benefit different aspects of fitness e.g. improving heart rate or stretching muscles. I am also very concious that we are all different people. Some of these differences come about with age and for that reason whenever possible I try to run a separate class for the 55+ folk. In this class life is taken at a gentler pace with clear advice on how best to use the exercise to fit in with your personal body condition. For this reason my 55+ classes are ideal for those who have had heart operations and need to get back to fitness.

fitness lady For those whose aim is to be fit and not noticeably overweight, or even super slim, Fitness Training treats the whole body, exercise by exercise by exercise. Because there are a variety of activities you have the incentive to go one to the next which you can do better, of course. The idea is that each individual truimph builds enthusiasm for the next challenge. Any questions you may have regarding your own capabilities and progress will be answered privately and advice freely given and this includes nutrition advice.

What equipment is needed for Circuit Training? Well in a sense none - just you, but you may find it beneficial to wear trainers or some type of gym shoe. Bring a towell and bottle of water. Last of all, some of the exercises are "floor exercises" meaning you are on the floor so a small gym mat would be beneficial.
